Healthy Eating The Subliminal Way

Could art make you healthy? I read this week that health officials at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that less than one third of American adults eat the recommended 5 daily servings of fruits and vegetables. I think one way to help us all make good choices is through the use of functional art. If you design your home with fruit and vegetable motifs they can serve as subliminal messages that selecting fruits and veggies is important for your diet.
For example, clip your shopping list on your refrigerator with a Grape Magnet. Brighten your kitchen with an Apple Night Light that acts as a gentle reminder when you awaken with those nighttime munchies. You can have a positive message on your keys with a Cherry Key Chain. Use a Metal Wallet with Carrots to make you stop and think
every time you buy a meal away from home. Any of these ideas just might provide the impetus needed to reach for a healthy snack. Any actions that further the government’s goal of getting 75% of Americans to eat two servings of fruits and three servings of vegetables every day by the year 2010 is a step in the right direction. We all want to live a long and healthy life, right?
